ACADEMIC WRITING SKILLS COURSE

The Academic Writing Skills Course is designed to prepare you to plan and develop university academic writing skills required for assignments and projects within their chosen field of studies. There are two courses, Academic Writing 1 and Academic Writing 2. The goal of Academic Writing 1 is to acquire basic skills such as planning, developing, and formatting academic writing assignments. Academic Writing 2 focusses on specific advanced skills such as paraphrasing, referencing, evaluating, and summarising texts.

GENERAL ENGLISH: ELEMENTARY

The Elementary Course is a basic General English Language Course (Level 2) to practise using English in everyday life (CEFR: A1+). The topics are relevant to modern day and include practise in the four skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Course materials are included in the price.

IELTS INTEGRATED SKILLS (AC): OPTION A

The Listening Skills component is designed for candidates tackling the IELTS Academic (AC) Test, focusing on understanding IELTS Listening Task Types and practicing exam techniques under timed conditions to boost confidence and ensure task completion. Independent Learning Tasks (ILT) post-lesson further develop listening skills, with Progress Tests for assessment. Similarly, the Reading Skills component, IELTS Academic Reading , examines the format and scoring system, emphasizing effective question answering and regular timed practice to enhance confidence. Post-lesson ILTs allow for additional practice. The Writing Skills component, tailored for IELTS Academic Writing, scrutinises the writing format and scoring system, emphasising regular exam practice under timed conditions and self-assessment techniques. Feedback and scores from Progress Tests aid in writing process development. Lastly, the Speaking Skills component addresses the IELTS Speaking Exam Format and common topics, with a focus on building topic vocabulary and overall fluency and confidence through practice tests and feedback sessions with an experienced examiner assessing vocabulary, grammar, fluency, and pronunciation.

Emphasising effective question answering and progressively honing reading skills through regular timed practice sessions aim to enhance confidence and ensure task completion success. The course includes post-lesson Independent Learning Tasks (ILTs) for additional practice and consolidation of reading skills and exam techniques. With three Progress Tests (Mock Exams) for assessment and feedback, the course materials feature authentic IELTS Exam Practice Tests.
